McLanahan has thrown its’ support behind Rural Aids’ Buy a Bale campaign to assist Hunter Valley farmers battling the current crippling drought.
A truck load of hay sponsored by McLanahan will be delivered to farmers doing it tough on Wednesday.
“As McLanahan works amongst the dairy and livestock industries we need to get involved. Although one truck load of hay does not go far, we hope to help raise more awareness from the business and government sectors as the longer the drought continues the more support will be needed” said Neil Hunt, Managing Director McLanahan Asia Pac.
We invite you to join us in lending a hand. You don’t have to donate a whole truck! A single bale is $20 or $4.40 helps move each truckload 1 kilometre.
McLanahan agricultural employee, Andrew Lenehan can fully appreciate the situation as he was operating a dairy business during the Millennium drought. “No one is looking for a handout, the longer the drought continues, the further away the fodder is sourced, the freight cost continues to rise. If we can offset some of these costs it all helps”.
A supplier to the dairy and livestock industries, McLanahan manufactures effluent processing and management systems.
